Thomas MacLellan is Director of Policy and Government Affairs for Symantec with focuses on cybersecurity policy challenges facing state and local governments and higher education. He has nearly 20 years’ experience working across areas including cybersecurity, electronic crime, forensics, public safety broadband, justice information sharing, prescription drug abuse, privacy, energy and assurance. He was Director of National Homeland Security Policy and Government Affairs for FireEye, and was Director of Homeland Security and Public Safety for the National Governors Association. He led the Governors Homeland Security Advisors Council, creating the first national effort to improve states’ cybersecurity. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and the Naval Postgraduate School Executive Leaders Program.
