Rachel Azafrani

Rachel Azafrani leads global public policy strategy for AI and IoT security at Microsoft as part of the Digital Diplomacy team. Azafrani gives expert consultation to governments, international organizations, and publications such as The Economist to advance security, trust, and innovation in a complex global policy and regulatory environment. Prior to joining Microsoft, she was a Research Associate at the Digital Ethics Lab of the Oxford Internet Institute where she focused on AI and cybersecurity. Previously, she worked in cyber and information operations at BlackHorse Solutions, a defense innovator. Azafrani holds an M.Sc. in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford and a BSFS in International Political Economy from Georgetown University.
