Patrick Courneya

MD, Chief Medical Officer, Kaiser Permanente

Patrick T. Courneya, MD, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for National Health Plan and Hospitals Quality at Kaiser Permanente. Courneya oversees Kaiser Permanente’s national quality agenda. Courneya previously served as Medical Director and Associate Medical Director for HealthPartners Health Plan. Additionally, he has held medical leadership positions at the medical group, hospital and health plan levels. He is board certified in family practice and had a full spectrum family practice career for 25 years. Courneya received his undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He completed his family practice residency at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
