A renowned researcher, he is a thought-leader on cybersecurity policies and has served as Special Advisor to Department of Defense. Prior to founding CrowdStrike, Alperovitch was VP of Threat Research at McAfee, where he led company's global threat intelligence analysis and investigations. In 2016, Alperovitch revealed the suspected Russian intelligence agencies' hack of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), events which later led to the resignation of top leadership of the DNC in the midst of the presidential campaign. In 2010 and 2011, Alperovitch led global team that investigated and brought to light Operation Aurora, Night Dragon and Shady RAT groundbreaking cyberespionage intrusions, and gave those incidents their names.
