Major General John Davis

Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy, Department of Defense

Major General John Davis is the Senior Military Advisor for Cyber to the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and serves as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy.
Prior to this assignment, he served as the director of current operations, United States Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Maryland, and Deputy Dommander, Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations, Arlington, Virginia. He has served in multiple leadership positions in special operations, information operations and cyber. Previous assignments in these specialties include Commander, 1st Information Operations Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and Information Operations Chief for U.S. Special Operations Command and the Joint Special Operations Command. Some of his previous infantry officer assignments include the 82nd Airborne Division, Berlin Brigade, 2nd Ranger Battalion and the United Nations Security Force in Panmunjom, Korea.
His military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star Medal.
