It’s his job to maintain and improve BT’s security portfolio, making sure it grows and develops in line with customer demands and the evolving cyber threat. BT Security has developed its Assure portfolio to meet the demands of threats which are dynamic and constantly changing. We have a full range of managed security services, designed to help our customers manage the risks and threats they face in the most cost-effective and efficient way. Prior to this role he led and won a very large bid to fully outsource cyber operations and technology development for a national organisation. Before that Hugh planned, formed and then ran a new organisation to protect BT itself from cyber-attacks. During this time his team successfully protected both BT and the London 2012 Olympics network and website, one of BT’s key clients, from a number of concerted DDOS attacks.
