Matt Bishop

Professor, UC Davis

Matt Bishop received his Ph.D. in 1984 from Purdue University, where he studied computer security. He is on the faculty in the Department of Computer Science at the University of California at Davis. Bishop’s main research area is the analysis of vulnerabilities in computer systems, and he has been active in computer security education, especially in the teaching of "secure" (robust) programming. His textbook "Computer Security: Art and Science" is used in many undergraduate and graduate classes.
