The NIST Randomness Beacon
View all Sessions
This session will describe the architecture of the NIST Randomness Beacon. This is to be an online source of public randomness. Every 60 seconds, a randomly generated 512-bit string will be posted. The posting will be time-stamped and signed by NIST. The design also includes other security and integrity mechanisms. The talk will explain why we think this is a valuable resource in the online world.
