Dr. Thomas Keenan

Professor, University of Calgary

Thomas P. Keenan is Professor of Environmental Design and Computer Science at the University of Calgary, and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies. Educated at Columbia University, he is the Author of over 500 academic papers and presentations. He taught Canada’s first computer security course, and helped write that country’s inaugural computer crime laws. Keenan is an exciting and entertaining speaker who makes complex ideas understandable. This year he spoke at conferences including RSAC Asia Pacific Japan, DEFCON (Biohacking Village), Hackers on Planet Earth and ACM SIGGRAPH. He is also a busy Technology Correspondent and this year provided coverage of DEFCON and BlackHat for CBC Radio stations across Canada as well as other media outlets.
