Privacy is an important issue for the modern digital world. Today, marketing, IT, data vendors, and consumers have disparate views of privacy, which regulations alone cannot reconcile. This talk puts forth the concept of "contextual privacy," argues that privacy controls should be inherently contextual, else we risk either over-engineering or loss of user privacy.
