Weekend Reading: Snowpocalypse Edition

We know your work days are so busy that many of the week's best infosec stories often get lost in the shuffle. That's where Weekend Reading comes in. We bring you the best news and analysis from the cybersecurity world, chosen by the field's best writers and editors.

CISA Safe HarborIf you're on the East Coast this weekend, chances are you'll have plenty of time on your hands to read. (Unless, of course, you're the one who's stuck shoveling snow. Then, I'm very sorry. Lift with the legs.)

This week Dark Reading's Kelly Jackson Higgins has the perfect cybersecurity snow read.

"Sara Peters posted the perfect piece for East Coasters like myself who will be snowed in by the blizzard—an in-depth look at what CISA and Safe Harbor mean for multinational companies and what they should do about it. This is a nice “what it means to you” read." Check out: No Safe Harbor Is Coming -- CISA Made Sure Of It.

In case you missed it, I'm recommending one of our RSA Confernece posts from this week from our series with venture capatlists. Alberto Yépez and Don Dixon, managing directors of Trident Capital Cybersecurity, give their view on the current threat landscape in Cybercrime and Threats Are Growing in 2016

If you don't think cybercrime is a big deal, over at Forbes, Steve Morgan says we're in the midst of a cybercrime "epidemic." Check out Cyber Crime Costs Projected To Reach $2 Trillion by 2019.

For smaller organizations, we'd also like to make sure you see Marianne Kolbasuk McGee's piece at DataBreachToday: Malware: A Battle Plan for Smaller Organizations.

And last but not least, The Guardian has a great piece on the emerging threat of cyberwarfare: 'Trident is old technology': the brave new face of cyber warfare.

Happy reading!
