Engineering Safe and Secure Software Systems

The description for Engineering Safe and Secure Software Systems says that it is the first-of-its-kind resource that is a broad and detailed understanding of software systems engineering from both security and safety perspectives.  The truth is that Ross Anderson did that in his groundbreaking bookSecurity Engineering: A Guide to Building Dependable Distributed Systems.

Aside from that, author Warren Axelrod (full disclosure: Warren is a friend of mine) uses Anderson’s approach in that a strong process-based engineering approach to information security, and building secure systems in an imperative.

As so many cars, refrigerators, defibrillators and everything in between have IP addresses, the effective and secure design of software systems is an imperative.

Engineering Safe and Secure Software Systems looks to be a fascinating and valuable reference.
