He also writes columns that appear in the San Jose Mercury News and on CNET News, Forbes.com and the Huffington Post. He is on the board of directors of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and advisory boards of PBS Kids, Internet Congressional Caucus and Family Online Safety Institute. He has a doctor of education degree from the University of Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
