Deputy Under Secretary for Cybersecurity and Communications, Department of Homeland Security, National Protection and Programs DirectoratePhyllis Schneck serves as the Deputy Under Secretary for Cybersecurity and Communications within the Department of Homeland Security, where she is the chief cybersecurity official for DHS and supports its mission of strengthening the security and resilience of the nation’s critical infrastructure. As Deputy Under Secretary, Schneck is creating and driving DHS’s vision for the future of cybersecurity. She came to DHS from McAfee, where she was Chief Technology Officer for Global Public Sector. Before joining McAfee, she was VP of Research Integration for Secure Computing. She also worked as the VP of Enterprise Services for eCommSecurity; and served as VP of Corporate Strategy for SecureWorks. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
