Homeland Security and Public Safety Division Director, National Governors Association, Center for Best PracticesThomas oversees all of the NGA Center's work on homeland security and public safety policy issues. In this role, he is responsible for the Governors' Homeland Security Advisors Council (GHSAC), the governors’ criminal justice policy advisors network, and the governors’ public safety broadband advisors. Thomas also manages a number of nationally significant projects across a range of policy areas including cyber security, prescription drug abuse, sentencing and corrections reform, justice information sharing, public safety broadband, as well as others. Thomas’ other past projects include work on prisoner reentry, forensic DNA, juvenile justice, and school violence. Thomas holds a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross, and is a graduate of the Naval Post Graduate Executive Leaders Program.
