Marcus Sachs

Marcus Sachs was previously Verizon’s Vice President for National Security Policy. He serves on several public/private working groups in Washington, has testified before Congress, co-authored several books on cyber security, and was a member of the CSIS Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2001, following a distinguished 20 year career, and was subsequently appointed by the President to serve in the White House Office of Cyberspace Security from 2002 to 2003. From 2003 to 2010, he volunteered as the Director of the SANS Internet Storm Center. He holds degrees in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, and Science and Technology Commercialization, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Policy.
