Program Manager, DHS Science and Technology
Karyn Higa-Smith is a Program Manager at the Science and Technology Directorate under the Homeland Security Advance Research Projects Agency, Cyber Security Division. Higa-Smith heads research in the areas of Identity Management and Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Through a practitioner-driven approach, she develops and deploys information resources-standards, frameworks, tools and technologies-to enable seamless and secure interactions among homeland security stakeholders. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Clemson University and is a certified Identity Management professional from the Naval Postgraduate School. She has over 10 years of experience in Information Assurance and Security Audit and Assessments.
