Program Director, CSIS
James Andrew Lewis is a senior fellow and Program Director at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where he writes on technology, security and international affairs. Before joining CSIS, he worked at the Departments of State and Commerce. Lewis has authored more than ninety publications since coming to CSIS. He was the Project Director for CSIS's Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency and the Rapporteur for the 2010 UN Group of Government Exports on Information Security. Lewis' comments appear frequently in the media and he has testified numerous times before Congress. His current research focuses on the political effect of the internet, national strategy, and innovation. Lewis received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
