Chief Security Strategist, Global Services, RSA, The Security Division of EMC
Jason Rader is the Chief Security Strategist for RSA Global Services. He is charged with managing the strategic planning process and working with clients to develop solutions for security related business problems. These solutions typically include governance, strategy, architecture, and operational elements and, in most organizations, are driven by the senior and executive management teams. Prior to his current role, Rader worked with the Information Security Services Group where he designed and matured the strategic security offers within EMC's Global Security Practice. His areas of focus revolved around Policy Development, Data Classification, Risk Assessment, and Maturity Model implementation.
Before accepting his position at RSA, Rader enjoyed worldwide success as a security consultant and technica ltrainer. His dynamic presentation skills and ability to break down technical concepts into meaningful analogies have kept him in high demand as a public speaker and author. Rader's expertise includes both intricate technical(directory services, access control, virtualization, authentication, and auditing) and high-level conceptual areas(ISO 27000, security management, compliance, etc.) and he is constantly evaluating new standards and technologies to add to his repertoire. His leadership skills and understanding of the dependencies related to security and technology give him a unique perspective. It is rare to find a skill set that can go from the boardroom to the Critical Incident Response Center (CIRC). His technology vision has presented him with opportunities to work with CIOs and CISOs to design security programs and multi-year technology plans, and his knowledge of systems and attention to detail allow him to lead a team through a project from planning through completion. Rader's current focus is on developing enterprise security management strategies that include virtualization and cloud security, incident response, Advanced Persistent Threats (APT), and user awareness.
