What is a registration code?
A registration code is used for tracking certain registrant groups. Not all registrants will use a registration code, only registrants who were given a registration code need to enter it on their registration form.

How can I get a formal invitation letter for my visa application?
Once you have registered and paid in full, you may request a letter from RSA Conference by contacting Lori Kane at Lori.Kane@rsa.com.

What is the tax ID number? How do I get a W-9 form?
The tax ID number for this Conference is 04-2680009. You can obtain a W-9 form by sending an e-mail to rsaconferencehelp@rsaconference.com

What is My RSA Conference 2012?
My RSA Conference 2012 is a personal portal to be used for your access to detailed information regarding your participation in RSA Conference 2012.

How do I access my user name and password if it is forgotten?
If you forget your user name and password you can request to have them sent to you again by sending an email to rsaconferencehelp@rsaconference.com.

Are there any discounts for large groups?
Yes. There is a Group (5+) Discount. If you purchase five (5) or more Delegate registration passes at the same time you will automatically receive a $100 discount per registration. To register a large group, you will be required to purchase a minimum of five (5) Delegate passes using one (1) credit card in a single transaction. At the time of purchase you will receive, via email, a unique Registration Code that you can distribute to the individuals in your group. Each individual will be required to enter this group Registration Code as they begin their registration process.

DELEGATE STUDENT/ACADEMIC RATE

What are the requirements for the academic registration?

Proof of your academic standing will be required when you check in on-site. Students must bring a copy of their class schedule showing 12 units or credits and valid student ID. Full-time professors must bring a valid, accredited university ID. Failure to produce proof of your academic status will result in a charge of the full on-site full Delegate registration fee of $2295.

If you are a teacher, but do not have the title of professor, and your id badge indicates that you are faculty, it does not qualify you for the Academic rate.  Instructor, Faculty or Professor, qualifies you for the rate. IS/or Systems employees from a university do not qualify for academic rate.

GOVERNMENT RATE

What are the requirements for a government discount?
Government Discount applies to Delegate package only. Government discounts cannot be extended to non-profits.

Current full-time employees of US federal, state or local government agencies and current full-time employees of international government agencies will receive $200 off “Delegate Pass” registration fees for RSA Conference 2012. To qualify for the discount, you must show your current, valid government identification card during registration check-in.  If you are unable to provide identification, you will be charged the on-site Delegate Pass registration rate of $2295.

The government discount cannot be combined with any other discount offers.

Government contractors, including contractors working on government “Cost Reimbursable Contracts”, are not eligible for the government discount.

Valid identification consists of:

  • Government issued Visa, MasterCard or American Express
  • Government picture ID
  • Military picture ID
  • Federally Funded Research Development Corp(FFRDC) ID

What is the cancellation policy?

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registrations are transferable (see Substitution Policy below). Should you have extenuating circumstances, please call Registration Support (1-801-523-6530). Please remember that canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your hotel and travel arrangements. Individuals are responsible for canceling their own hotel and travel reservations.

If I am unable to attend, how can someone take my place at the Conference?
Substitutions, including those made on-site, are allowed with the written permission of the original registrant. You may submit your request via email, fax or regular/overnight mail. Please note there will be a $125 processing fee for any substitution.

Hotels

How do I make a hotel reservation?

You have to be registered for the Conference in order to take advantage of the negotiated Conference rates within the Conference hotel blocks. If you haven’t registered yet, please go to http://rsaconference.com/events/2012/usa/registration.htm to register and make your hotel arrangements.

If you are already registered, please go to http://www.rsaconference.com/account/index.htm, enter your user name and password that you created when you registered to access your personal administration page and make your hotel arrangements online.

What do the hotels cost and how close are they to The Moscone Center?

What is the Conference attire?
Casual to Business dress is appropriate.

Do you have an age requirement for the Conference?
You must be 18 years of age to attend RSA Conference 2012 and Exposition.

Can a list of conference registrants be provided?
We do not distribute RSA 2012 registration lists.

As a rule and to respect the privacy of all RSA Conference registrants we do not divulge or share registration information. Prior to and once on-site at the Conference there will be many ways in which to network with other registrants. Our registrants come from around the world and represent all facets of industry. Please stay tuned in the coming months for agenda updates where you can review sessions that pertain to your industry.

What is the Briefing Center?
The briefing center is located in the exhibit hall and is open to all registrants. It is located in booth 2011.
Additional sessions are held in the Briefing Center and are structured much like Track sessions.

Will there be a job opportunity listing?

Is meeting space available at The Moscone Center?
There are various areas in the Moscone Center for impromptu and informal meetings, including Crypto Commons and the mezzanine in Moscone South. There is limited ancillary space available for formal meetings at the convention center. For inquiries into reserving ancillary space, for speakers, please refer to the information contained in the Speaker Resource Center, and for Exhibitors, please refer to the information contained in the Exhibitor Resource Center. Are meals included in the cost of registration?
Delegate registrants receive continental breakfast, am/pm breaks, and food served at the Welcome Reception, Monday evening and Codebreakers Bash, Thursday evening. There are concession stands within Moscone and a number of outlets within walking distance.

What special dietary requirements are accommodated with the meals at the Conference?

Post Conference

  • Presentations will be posted on My RSA Conference 2012 , as available, for delegates to download at their convenience. Presentations are available to Delegate registrants only.
  • Video of selected sessions will be recorded and available to delegates after the Conference in online video format. Videos of the Keynote sessions are available to the public: Delegates will have access to the Conference recordings free as part of their registration when they are available post Conference.

How do I make sure I receive information on PR opportunities?
All approved exhibitors must submit the name, e-mail address and phone number of one main public relations contact on the RSA Conference 2012 Exhibitor Resource Center (ERC). This should be the agency or in-house PR contact responsible for press conferences, press and analyst meetings and other PR opportunities for your company. Please contact the Conference PR team at rsaconf@shiftcomm.com regarding additional PR questions.

Is there press meeting space available?
Exhibitors are welcome to contact pre-registered press and analysts to schedule individual meetings at the Conference. Most exhibitors and media prefer to schedule press meetings on the show floor or in the exhibit booth. However, if you prefer to hold meetings off the floor, one-on-one press meeting spaces are available in the Press Meeting Rooms on first-come, first-served basis. To book the room, you must provide the name of the journalist/analyst with whom your company is meeting. Meeting times are 60 minutes long and begin at the top of the hour.

Accreditations

Are there accreditations available for attending the RSA Conference?

International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Up to 20 CPE credits may be awarded to IAPP-certified professionals who complete a CPE application form and supporting documentation. For more information go to www.privacyassociation.org.

(ISC)² members can earn 38 CPE credits for attending RSA Conference 2012. After the Conference, RSA Conference Europe will provide (ISC)² with a list of each attending (ISC)² member’s name, membership number and applicable credits. Please note, we ask for members’ (ISC)² membership numbers during the registration process.

ISACA members are entitled to CPE credits for attending RSA Conference 2012. Members can qualify for 1 CPE credit for each applicable track session that is 50 minutes and keynote session subject to ISACA approval. Members will need to self-report attendance information with a copy of the post-conference trip report (detailing sessions attended thru badge scanning while onsite) as support of their request.

Special Groups

-Press & Analysts Attendance-

Who do you consider press and analysts?
RSA Conference 2012 welcomes journalists and industry analysts with news/editorial organizations and research firms. Bloggers, broadcast camera crews and photographers are included in this category and will need to complete the registration process as well.

What are the qualifications to get a press pass for a member of the press?
You will need to indicate the type of organization you are representing and provide a direct link to your latest written article or report, with your name included, posted at an editorial or analyst website. RSA Conference 2012 Press Relations will not search a website for your article and publication home pages will not be accepted. Please note that RSA Conference does not archive previous registered press and analyst registrants – this means that even if you have registered and attended the Conference before, you will still need to complete the registration form.

What are the qualifications to get a press pass for industry analysts?
Analysts and writers from internationally recognized industry research firms, who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports, must provide both a business card with an editorial title and a sample of an industry-related report published in the past six months.

What are the qualifications to get a press pass for financial analysts?
Financial analysts, regardless of editorial assignments, will not be given press passes.

How do I obtain a press pass?
Please check back in late September for our press registration page to submit your credentials.

What does a press pass provide access to?
With an approved press pass, you will have access to the keynotes, Expo, track sessions and press space. The press pass does not provide access to the pre-Conference tutorials or Peer2Peer sessions.

Where do I pick up my press pass?
You will need to pick up your press pass on-site at the RSA Conference 2012 Press Registration area, located in the South Lobby of The Moscone Center.

Who do I contact for pre-show interviews?
Contact the RSA Conference PR team at rsaconf@shiftcomm.com to arrange pre-show interviews with speakers or Conference managers.

How much does the Conference cost?
As a track session or keynote speaker, you receive a complimentary Delegate registration.

Does this include my hotel?

No, you are responsible for all lodging costs, but the Conference has secured special rates at local hotels, which can be found on the Conference website.

How do I register for my hotel?
You have to be registered for the Conference in order to take advantage of the negotiated Conference.

Does the complimentary Conference registration include all of my meals?
No, the complimentary Conference registration only includes the meals that are provided at a few select Conference activities. This includes continental breakfasts, a.m./p.m. breaks, the Welcome Reception, Speakers Dinner and the Codebreakers Bash. You are responsible for all other meal expenses.

Can I attend other sessions?
Your complimentary Delegate registration allows you to attend all Conference session, activities and events, with the exception of the SANS Tutorials.

How do I become a part of the Members Circle?
To qualify as a “Members Circle” member you have to be registered as a Delegate registrant and shall have attended at least five (5) Conferences in total. (Qualifying conferences include US, Japan, and Europe.)

You have to indicate on your registration form that you have attended these Conferences in the past.

If an attendee has the Expo pass this year, but does qualify from previous years for Members Circle, can they still get the privileges of the Members Circle with an Expo pass?
No, you have to be a Delegate attendee to receive Members Circle benefits. NO EXCEPTIONS.

What benefits do Members Circle members receive?
As a Member Circle member you will receive the following:

  • A designated Members Circle check-in counter to speed you through registration
  • Reserved priority seating during the opening day (Tuesday) Keynotes
  • A special Members Circle luncheon with entertainment
  • A Commemorative RSA Conference pin
