Session Classifications
All track sessions will fit into one of the following session classifications:
Advanced– Sessions focused on advanced principles and concepts, with little/no time spent on defining terms and background. Contains instructive demos, line code, advanced architecture discussions, tools that can be shared, or similar level of content. Geared toward attendees with deep subject knowledge and 10 or more years of experience. Depth of Advanced content is equivalent to peer-reviewed papers found in academic journals, such as the Journal of Cryptography.
Intermediate – Focused on principles and concepts that would appeal to attendees with more than 5 years of experience. Little, if any, time is spent on definitional terms and concepts. Contains instructive demos, line code, tools, architectural discussions, or similar level of content. Depth of Intermediate content is equivalent to articles found in IEEE magazines, such as Security & Privacy, or the ABA Journal.
Not Rated – For sessions not providing Intermediate or Advanced content, please check this box. For most tracks the Programme Committee will be focusing on Intermediate or Advanced topics so the chances for selection are limited. However, compelling strategic sessions, introductions to new technology, or tracks where the ratings are not as relevant should be submitted under this classification.
